In this workshop Landon explains how CORS and PBO Station GNSS data can be used to improve how surveyors establish geodetic control for their projects. The workshop begins with an explanation of recent and future changes at NGS, and how these will impact land surveyors in the United States. Landon then discusses the important role CORS and PBO Stations will play in the new horizontal and vertical datums of NGS. After this introduction, Landon explains his workflow for the establishment of geodetic control using CORS and PBO Station GNSS data. The talk concludes with a discussion about the California Central Valley Control Network and the opportunity for land surveyors to inexpensively set up cooperative regional control networks.
